Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of knowledge and, consequently, the individual client’s perceptions, which influenced the quality of the insurance service offered, in non-life insurance sector through insurance brokerage, with a special focus on bancassurance. It has been hypothesized that the SWOT method is an effective instrument for identifying the level of knowledge and hence the individual customer’s awareness through the prism of bancassurance. The methodological concept of the study was based on a functional view of the insurance market and the economic determinants of the market. Research analyses were conducted using the knowledge contained in the literature of the subject. In addition, we analysed the development strategy of the banking sector in the eyes of customers from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship using the SWOT analysis method. The study period covered the years 2013–2016. The main conclusion that is drawn from the analysis is that the current level of cooperation between the insurance company and the bank in the opinion of individual customers does not have a better chance of developing bancassurance without introducing innovations in banking products.
