Foreword

A compelling case for the importance of entrepreneurship was made by the World Economic Forum (2018): 'entrepreneurs are key drivers of economic and social progress. Rapidly growing entrepreneurial enterprises are often viewed as important sources of innovation, productivity growth and employment (small and medium-sized enterprises account for 97% of all jobs in emerging economies). Many governments are therefore trying to actively promote entrepreneurship through various forms of support.'

Given its significance, we sought to better understand current entrepreneurship trends. In the Spring of 2019, we invited academicians, scientists and practitioners to submit papers that addressed current thinking about entrepreneurial concepts, models, methods and practices. This Małopolska School of Economics in Tarnów Research Papers Collection special issue is the result of a competitive double blind review process. The special issue contains three themes: young entrepreneurs, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and the technical aspects of entrepreneurship (...).
