Tarnów citizens’ knowledge of town development plan

Abstract

‘DOMUSS’ Real Estate Scientific Circle, acting at the Małopolska School of Economics in Tarnów, has run an anonymous opinion poll among Tarnów citizens in order to determine their knowledge on the subject of the town development plan. The poll covered 125 people of various ages, females and males of different professions and occupations. Employment diversity helped to examine people who are concerned with or are closely connected with the land development plan, as well as those who had not heard about it. Questions were asked to people in the street and acquaintances of the circle who come from Tarnów and towns closely connected with Tarnów. The aim of the survey was to present the level of knowledge of Tarnów citizens on the subject of the land development plan. The conducted poll indicates that Tarnów inhabitants are acquainted with the topic of spatial development. They know what the land development plan is, what it contains and where it is. However, they declared that access to the knowledge contained in the plan is limited and therefore the conclusion from the conducted survey is that the city authorities should improve the plan structure and take care of spreading the knowledge about it among Tarnów citizens.
